01 – Decades of Public Service
John Reiner has dedicated more than 35 years of vision and leadership to shaping Dublin into the thriving community it is today.
As a longtime City Councilmember, representing Muirfield and surrounding neighborhoods, John has worked on policies that balance growth with livability.
His service also includes eight years on the Dublin Planning & Zoning Commission, where he helped set standards that guided Dublin’s transformation from a small town into a model city.
Through these roles, John has earned a reputation for being a steady voice of integrity, accountability, and long-term planning.
02 – Beautification & Smart Planning
One of John’s earliest contributions was helping to draft Dublin’s first beautification laws — groundbreaking regulations at the time, and among the first of their kind in the United States.
These measures set the tone for how Dublin would grow: with green space, attractive design, and strong community standards.
His commitment to aesthetics and planning has kept Dublin a city that feels welcoming and carefully designed, rather than overcrowded or overbuilt.
John’s efforts ensured that every stage of growth maintained Dublin’s identity as a community where families are proud to live and businesses want to invest.
03 – Transformative Projects
John was instrumental in making Bridge Park and Riverside Crossing Park a reality — two of the most transformative projects in Dublin’s history.
Bridge Park introduced a walkable, European-style design, with restaurants, housing, offices, and entertainment in a vibrant riverfront district.
Riverside Crossing Park connected neighborhoods and businesses with pedestrian-friendly design, new gathering spaces, and community events. These projects not only revitalized the city’s core but also generated jobs, economic growth, and civic pride.
Thanks to John’s leadership, Dublin is now viewed as a model of smart urban design and modern development.
04- Champion for the Community
Throughout his career, John has fought for responsible growth and fiscal responsibility. He has kept Dublin’s income tax rate at 2%, while surrounding communities sit at 2.5%, protecting residents while still delivering results.
John has also been a champion for senior services, supporting the creation of recreation centers, community spaces, and programs for aging residents.
At the same time, he has helped make Dublin a premier destination, promoting events like the Dublin Irish Festival (the largest three-day Irish festival in the world), veterans’ memorials that honor service, and public art that enriches the city’s culture.
These initiatives reflect John’s belief that a great city is built not only on strong finances, but also on community, tradition, and pride of place.
